Askifou is ideal place for relaxation and entertainment via seasonal agricultural activities. We suggest some of them:

You can visit Koule, a 19th century Osman fort that has remained from the Turkish occupation of Crete and is situated Νorth Εast of the village.
Walk in the alleys of the village or cross the plain with one of our bikes and visit our family’s distillery (rakokazano).
Pay a visit to the War Museum, which is a private collection with objects from the 1st and the 2nd World War.
Try horse riding with an original "georgalidiko" (cretan pedigree) horse!
If you are fun of hunting and shooting, a visit to the shooting-gallery or the surrounding mountains is a must.
You can treck from Askifou up to Asfendou village through an old path (50΄ approximately).
Cross the Imbros gorge that ends to Komitades village by the sea and enjoy your swimming in one of the beautiful Sfakian beaches.
Follow the E4 path that crosses the White Μountains starting from Askifou plateau and hiking the all-year-round snowed peaks Kastro (2.223m) and Fanari (2.100m). It is an astonishing route for mountain climbers. There is a shelter that is reachable by car in Tavris plateau 7,5 km up from Askifou (1.100m).
If you are keen on extreme sports, dare the deepest jump in Balkans (bungee jumping) (138m deep) from Aradena’s bridge (June-July-August) and live a breathtaking, unforgettable experience!
